As it was pouring down rain, the temperature dropping and the wind started to pick up on Friday, I asked myself “Why did you think it would be fun to sign up for a 5K with obstacles in November? Really, why?"
Saturday morning came and it wasn’t nearly as nasty and the rain hadn’t resumed dumping so as I pulled on my long underwear, met up with my teammates and put on the awesome “Tiki Tough” t-shirt Missy made, I started to get a better attitude!
The Pineapple Classic turned out to be the most fun I’ve had yet running a 5K (well maybe second to the I Love ME 5K). Having a team of awesome Tiki Tough girls who were ready to embrace the mud, rain and obstacles was so cool! I think we had huge smiles on our face through the entire route. And the beer stop part way through the course was just an extra bonus!
It also helped that there were bottle necks before each obstacle so we got to stop, catch our breath and chat along the way as we waited to hurdle, crawl, swing and climb! And fun to know our dirty efforts all went to a good cause supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
Looks like such a fun event! I love that Murray was there to support the Tiki Team! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we at least got our beer stop on the run since we didn't get the celebratory beer at the finish. That was a really fun run, let's do it again!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!
ReplyDeleteThat race looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a good time - especially the beer part. Proud of you girls for being tiki tough in the cold!
